Papaya Films repped Aggressive use game-changing real-time SetMapping technology.

When Amazon approached Aggressive to design the set and show package for their “Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys” campaign, the studio spearheaded a technique to eliminate green screen and post-production, and built a custom immersive LED set which allows talent to interact in a dynamic, real-time environment.

Aggressive, represented by Papaya Films in the UK, used a technique that unified the look of the entire project while eliminating the need for complex green screen shooting and months of intense post-production. At the same time, this process dramatically reduced the number of crew required to be present on set.

Headed up by the Grammy award-winning filmmakers Alex Topaller and Dan Shapiro, the creative production company dubbed this technique Realtime SetMapping, and are ready to roll it out on a broad scale to clients across the spectrum of broadcast promotion, branded content and advertising.

For “Inside The Boys”, which comprises nine 30-minute episodes hosted by TV personality Aisha Tyler, Aggressive created a show opening and accompanying branding. “We [also] created an immersive virtual CG set for our host,” says Alex Toppaller. “Displayed on 4k LED panels, this CG-environment tracked our camera's position allowing it to move freely, while the backdrop distorted and changed perspectives correctly relative to the lens.”

'According To Alicia Keys, This Was Her Most Amazing Performance Ever

Aggressive has already applied the same XR SetMapping technology to their next endeavour, a one hour long Alicia Keys concert, which they directed for the prestigious American Express Unstaged series.
