Lemonade Reps hosted a truly special event—The Female Lens, a celebration of female filmmakers and their incredible work. Featuring four talented female directors, the evening showcased powerful, thought-provoking short films and sparked insightful conversations about the challenges and triumphs women face in the world of film and beyond.
The films screened included Tailing by Lauren Midwinter, a bold exploration of street harassment; A Dark Moment of Faith by Zornitsa Dimitrova, which delves into grief and unexpected hope; Waves by Jessie Ayles, capturing the emotional toll of gender-based violence; and Mama by Denise Moreno, a poignant reflection on the impact of breast cancer on young women. The screening was followed by an inspiring panel talk with the amazing Tina Mwazange from BBH.
“I adore hosting. I wouldn't want to ask questions that I personally wouldn't care to hear the answers to. I do feel like we need to give our creative talent more when discussing work. It's the perfect forum to inspect and get to know the work in it's depths and layers.” said Tina Mwazange. “Let's shy away from lazy discussions and rather be more explorative in how we approach grand work. I feel we owe it to the creators and the audience to give them a proper discussion. Which we achieved.”

From the screenings to the DJ sets by Elyse Raphael and the lively jazz band, The Teapot Travellers, the night was filled with energy and meaningful connections. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible celebration of female filmmakers, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for these talented women.
