Jim Field Smith joins Burger For Representation

Comedy and performance director Jim Field Smith joins Burger. The BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated English director has had a prolific career in the industry; he directed two American feature films She's Out of My League and Butter. At the BBC, he helmed season two of Episodes, directed The Wrong Mans and more recently Stag.

In 2008, Jim directed his first feature She's Out Of My League for Dreamworks. The film, starring Jay Baruchel and Alice Eve, opened worldwide in 2010 and was a hit at the US box office. His follow up feature, titled Butter is a satirical comedy that reflects the 2008 US democratic primaries. It featured a plethora of stars including Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde, Ty Burrell, Alicia Silverstone and Hugh Jackman. It premiered at the 2011 Toronto Film Festival and was released theatrically in 2012.

Since then, Jim has been working predominately with the BBC. He directed season two of the BAFTA nominated and Golden Globe winning Episodes, starring Matt Le Blanc, Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig. After this, he directed and produced both season of the acclaimed comedy thriller The Wrong Mans, co-written and starring James Corden and Mathew Baynton. Last year, he directed Stag for the BBC, another comedy thriller which he co-wrote with George Kay, centering around a stag do gone wrong in the Highlands of Scotland. His TV directing credits also include Wrecked for TBS and Endeavour for ITV.
