Daniel Liakh’s latest film puts a unique and empowering spotlight on those who live with a stammer in partnership with STAMMA UK. The film gives them a platform to voice their struggles and experiences that society imposes on them. With candid and down to earth conversations with a wonderfully diverse collection of people. The film captures people with a stammer mid-sentence and celebrating each moment while also calling out damaging comments that countless people with a stammer have had to endure in their daily lives.
STAMMA, the British Stammering Association, marked International Stammering Awareness Day on October 22nd with the launch of a new campaign highlighting the many misconceptions of those with a stammer experience.
Daniel had this to say about the project - “Some people see stammering as beautiful, others as something ugly and worth fixing. Regardless of what you think about this campaign, the fact remains – it’s just how some people talk. Deal with it.”.
Yellow Boat Music also composed the soundscape and recorded the protagonists for this unique project, Producer Paul Cartledge had this to say - “It was brilliant working with Daniel Liakh and the wonderful team and cast for this project. It was a powerful and moving experience.”.
