Stockholm animal animation company and digital zoo FABLEfx have a new spot for Pizza Hut showing that there is life beyond meat. And that life is in none other than a hungry and demanding lion. What makes this spot so charming is the common knowledge that lions are the carnivores of all carnivores. So if they can become moody and grubby over not being given a Beyond Meat pizza to eat, perhaps it’s even in our best interest to see what the fuss is about.
This superbly realistic depiction of the lion, that was created in FABLEfx’s digital zoo, helps balance the comedy of a pizza eating lion with a genuine sense of realism, and even fear if they aren’t fed what they want.
The spot stars actor Parker J Patterson who also provides us with the (comedic) relief that the lion doesn’t have all the control. Just how we’d like, he keeps the rest of the pizza for himself. And human to human, he lets us know with honesty how good it is.
FABLEfx Founder Anders Freij explained the production process in a little more detail. He stated, "This time we at FABLEfx teamed up with Passion Pictures and made sure Clearance the Lion got some proper time in the spotlight promoting Pizza Hut and Beyond Meat. We took some serious time to try and raise the bar of creature VFX while Passion Pictures mainly looked over production and direction. Apart from creature animation, muscle and sofa cushion simulations, we even animated some single fur strands on top of all other details. It was great to see how close up our now updated lion asset holds and feels like a great addition to the FABLEfx Digital Zoo."
